If you look it up, it's used to prevent or treat malaria. But from my own experience, I think it works with the common flu or cold that we get in North America. I think you can take this daily to prevent virus-like illnesses also.
When I got the cold that started with a sore throat, it eventually spread to my lungs. I had a runny nose and was coughing quite a bit and that made my throat even more sore. I also had a slight fever, chills and aches all over my body. Energy was very low. Couldn't sleep or rest because my nasals were blocked and when I tried to breathe through my mouth, it triggered coughing. This was happening for several weeks. I started using over the counter(OTC) meds but they did not help much or only provided temporary reliefs but made me very drowsy and still low on energy . With HCQ, it got rid of my chills, fever and aches within 30 minutes of consumption. My energy immediately came back. It also reduced my coughing but phlegm discharge was more apparent which is good I think since I believed it was the phlegm that triggered the coughing and nasal blockages.
I basically stumbled upon HCQ while watching YT and Telegram videos. Found some interesting videos from people who were brewing their own HCQ. They were just boiling lemon and grapefruit pith and claimed that it's the cure for the corona virus. So I thought to myself, let's give it a shot. Since I had some lemons and some pomelo around, let's see if it works. I substituted grapefruit with pomelo as it was the same family as the grapefruit. However the pith were much thicker so you didn't need as much. 2 lemons and 1 quarter of the pomelo pith, all cut into chunks, seems to do the trick for me. Put them in a pot, fill with cold water until there is about an inch or so of water underneath. Then cover and cook on high heat until water is boiling. Reduce to low heat and let it simmer for 3 hours. Do not open lid. After about 3 hours, turn off heat and let it cool for about a half hour. Drain the pot into a jug and then drain the jug through a sieve to remove any remaining solids into a glass jar.
Take a medium sip once or twice a day if you're feeling fine. If you're sick, do it as often as needed. Your body will let you know when you should take more. It's quite bitter the first time but after awhile you get used to it and it tastes fine. Place in fridge for later consumption. Should lasts about 2 weeks in the fridge.
Enjoy!
