Baking Soda

Can't believe this product has been around for about a century and with so many daily life uses but yet has so little coverage.

Did you know that your toothpaste and mouthwash has a warning label that says call Poison Control If Swallowed? Of course they had to make the text extremely small so as to avoid someone accidentally reading it. You're probably thinking, well I swallow a bit of it sometimes and I'm OK. Yeah well a little bit of it for years and decades will add up. They don't want to kill you immediately but they do want you to be ill when you get older and hooked on their medications. I say they because if you look up where these products are manufactured, it's the same pharmaceutical companies that make your medications.

Anyway, after pouring down a few liters of mouthwash from Costco as toilet detergent and no longer using toothpaste, I found out that Baking Soda dissolved in distilled water and a hint of peppermint extract makes a great replacement.

1 Cup of Distilled Water
1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon of Peppermint Extract

Will last you a week or so when brushing twice a day.

I also use it for Shampoo which my son prefers over baby shampoo as it doesn't sting his eyes. I use it as a cleaning detergent for toilets and bathtubs. And finally, my hydroponic tropical plants grow really well with a pinch of it weekly.

I've stopped using it for mouth wash as it appears to give me some kind of sores in my mouth. It's not very painful but some what perplexing. I have since gone back to toothpaste and the sores have gone away.

When I do use toothpaste or mouth wash, I make sure I rinse my mouth very well afterwards. And try to avoid brushing for longer than 30 seconds.

I haven't used it for mouth wash since but I think this may have been me not applying the correct water to baking soda ratio.

Still not convinced that toothpaste is safe for you so I've just started using water. Interestingly enough when you start brushing with water, your mouth starts to form a saliva that actually helps clean your teeth. I have noticed my breath and mouth doesn't smell as bad in the morning as when I used toothpaste. Definitely worth a try.

It appears there are different types of Baking Soda sold in the market. Avoid the ones that are synthesized in the labs and stick to all natural. I was using the Arm and Hammer brand and that's probably the reason for the sores. Fake shit!

I've also found that if you want to clear a sinus, mix it with distill water and breath the water in through one nostril and repeat with the other nostril. You'll see a lot of mucous coming out and that will help clear your sinus so you can breathe again. Repeat as much as needed to rid of all the mucous.

Ok I think the safest and cleanest way to brush your teeth is with Hydrogen Peroxide. And rinse your mouth out with distilled or filtered water.
