Thumbs up Remote Access Solution for Support

Just found on the net a pretty nifty utility. Best of all, it's free!

Very similar to VNC but you don't have to worry about port forwarding. But if you're behind a 2 way firewall, you will need to open up tcp 5507. You can grab it from my ftp site.

    ZolvedViewer.exe - to control a remote PC
ZolvedRC.exe - to host your PC for remote access

No installation required but needs host interaction.

    Enjoy!

    Default Logmein.com

Here's an even better remote access solution. According to the site, it claims that it can work through any firewall. I'll have to test it on a system that has a 2-way firewall.

There's a copy of the installation on my ftp site. You'll need to create an account to access your PCs.

Installs a service that runs on the the PC. So always on. No host interaction required.

The remote control feature is free and that is pretty much all we need.

    Thumbs up

    Logmein.com is great!

Works through 2-way firewall as it utilizes https for connectivity. Even works through a vpn connection!

Damn what happened to the free forever statement from LogMeIn? Oh well, TeamViewer trumps it anyway, be it NagWare.

Well looks like TeamViewer requires you to sign up now in order to connect to someone. It was good while it lasted. Now I just use Remote Assistance that's built into Windows. Works pretty damn good!
